TRY DANCING FOR FREE
As part of our 25th anniversary celebration EADA has teamed up with various Professionals across the country to offer free Ballroom & Latin Taster Classes in conjunction with London Big Dance Week. Classes are available in Colchester, Bournemouth, West Midlands, Manchester, Preston, Shropshire and Norwich in June/July. Congratulations to Neil Jones & Ekaterina Sokolova and to Ben Hardwick & Lucy Jones who have been selected to represent England in the European Amateur Latin Championships in the Czech Republic in June.
Dominique Corolleur & Diane Cottee competed at the Slovenian Open at the start of May and placed 3rd in the Senior II Latin and were semi-finalists in the Senior I Latin.
EADA are sad to announce that Janet Mansbridge, who fought a hard and long battle with her illness, passed away in the late evening of the 10th May. Our thoughts and sympathy go to Colin, family and friends at this painful time.
Joseph Hopwood & Alexandra Hawley, represented England and danced in the IDSF Open Amateur Latin in Slovakia and placed 16th.
Crystal Clover's new store in Cheam opened on May 5th, and offers an extensive range of fabrics and accessories as well as exclusive collections of dancewear. The new store is located on Ewell Rd, four shops away from Dance Options and within walking distance from Cheam railway station.
BRITAIN'S GOT TALENT - AKA dancers
AKA Freestyle Dance School who are affiliated to EADA opened the Newcastle auditions of Britain's Got Talent last weekend. They are an all-girl group from Newcastle, aged between 10 and 20 years old, and performed a Tina Turner themed routine. They received three yeses from the judges and have since been on GMTV, Live at 5 and have been interviewed by the Sun.
In the World Senior 10-dance Championships in Palma de Mallorca, Kieron Brown & Claire Howard-Robinson placed 37th. Gordon & Debby Maguire also entered the event and placed 68th and Ramen Sen & Fides Matzdorf placed 80th.
